The Latanica Saga World Map

Hey guys!

So I thought I'd take a second to share with you my latest piece of artwork... Which is the map of Geia! It took me a couple of days to complete; I would work on it during short bursts of time. First I had to figure out the Geography in my head, and then I started with the shape. It took me a while to get a shape that I liked and this is what I came up with! Next was just little details like islands, mountains, forests and rivers. I didn't think I'd be able to do it but I am so happy with the finished piece! Well, what do you guys think?

Done on plain sketch paper with an HB pencil and fine tipped sharpie.

Teaser Tuesday - Post #14

Here's something new! Every Tuesday I'm going to share with you a picture that showcases a moment from my book, Jazmine. Below it, I'll have a quote that is related to the picture. Hopefully this way ya'll will be able to get inside my head a little and see what Latanica is really like! None of these images (unless otherwise noted) are mine.

A silver mirror shimmered into view beside her, the delicate glass rippling like a still lake.  She beckoned me to move toward her, but I stepped forward hesitantly.

I turned my head to take a quick peek in the mirror... and a strange girl stared back at me.

Thrust, block, sweep, duck, stab, parry, volley.  Over and over again we performed these moves like a rehearsed dance.  I felt like I was flying; weaving and ducking under and around Adrian’s sharp blade.

I looked down at my hands and visibly grimaced.  I still held the ivory handled dagger, and the goblin’s blood stained my hands and wrists, dried in clumps to my bare skin.  I looked up and noticed a clear blue spring bubbling merrily over a dam of boulders, so I walked over to it and sunk my hands into the cool silky wetness.  I watched as the blood fell from my hands and drifted in red-black swirls down the spring, carried by the gentle current.

TAC Summer Great Books Program

Hey Everyone!

I know, I know, I haven't posted anything in FOREVER! But I have an excuse. Three actually. One is that this summer has been crazy with finishing up school, work, and everything else. And two is that I just got back a little while ago from a two-week-long College Summer Program! And three is that my family is currently hosting a foreign exchange student from France!

Below I have a bunch of pictures illustrating my experience at the summer program and also of Loic. I hope you enjoy them!

One of the groups I was hanging out with! They were awesome and we had some good times together! First is Melissa, Caleb, Antonia, and Robert.

Too cool for school, ha! Caleb and Robert at the Getty Museum in LA.

Hollywood!

The second group I hung out with. We had some crazy laughs!

This is what I did when I was bored in class. Haha! What do you guys think? Would I make a good Henna artist? ;-)

My awesome roommate Rachel!

The third group I would hang out with! We had a blast playing cards! Extreme spoons is the best!

This was a hilarious parody our Prefects put on about the murder of Julius Ceaser.

Back at home. This is Loic Chantrel, the foreign exchange student who is currently living with us to learn more English. This was at the fair last week!

My brother Zach and Loic in a gift shop in Santa Cruz!

This was one of our favorite rides!

At the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz!

All right everyone. I hope you enjoyed those! I'm going to pick up my teaser tuesdays again next week and hopefully share a lot more stuff with you guys!

Enjoy your weekend :-)

Cheers!
